Print&Sign project

LOSS OF VALUABLE RESOURCES

At present, there is no system for retrieving and recycling print films from Dutch sign companies. As a result post-consumer films (i.g. car wrapping and building signage) and productionwaste end up in inceneration. With an unfortunate loss of valuable plastics and unnecessary CO₂ emissions.

RECYCLING DRIVER OF INNOVATION

The recycling industry plays a key role, known for its pragmatics and commercial agility. By combining technical expertise, supply chain knowledge, and entrepreneurial spirit, this partnership enables solutions that are sustainable and economically viable.

OBJECTIVE

The common goal is clear: less waste incineration and more reuse of high-quality materials.

KEY AREAS OF FOCUS

The parties involved recognize that a systemic change is necessary to enable sustainable change in this sector. The Print&Sign project aims to develop a workable and future-proof return system for printing films in the Netherlands.

This includes looking at:

  • Mechanical separation of cutting waste into pvc and backing paper;
  • Expanding recycling capacity for post-consumer pvc-films
  • Designing an efficient return logistics within the existing supply chain

Together with our partners we are building a future-proof, circular Print&-Sign industry.
