Launch “End of Life” take back project

Do you have vinyl flooring in your home?

Maybe you’ll have one installed soon, maybe it’s been there for several years! Either way, what happens to that floor when you take a new one and throw the old one out?

So far, nothing happens at all! Our used vinyl flooring goes to landfill. The reason why they are not processed is because of the European legislation. The floors that were produced a long time ago, contain substances that are no longer allowed today.

Meanwhile, on behalf of EUROPEAN RESILIENT FLOORING MANUFACTURERS’ INSTITUTE, we will examine a large sample of different types of old vinyl floors to see whether they can be recycled.

Can it be done at all? What are the substances we encounter that are currently no longer allowed? And what can we do with this newly found developed material? Let’s get started!
